Itinerary
Your Pathway to Unforgettable Experiences
Day 1: Arrival Hanoi - Hanoi City Tour
Upon arrival at the airport, complete your airport formalities before being transferred to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and in the evening, embark on a city tour starting with the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam. Continue to Ba Dinh Square, the largest square in Hanoi, where major cultural and political events of the city take place. Here, you can take photos of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (from the outside). Later, enjoy an overall view of the capital during a “cyclo” ride that begins in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The ride will make a stop at Ngoc Son Temple, situated on the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake (the “Sword” Lake). Spend the night at the hotel in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi - Halong - Hanoi
In the morning, embark on a journey to the picturesque rice-farming villages of the Red River Delta, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe everyday Vietnamese village life. Your destination is Halong Bay, a natural World Heritage site recognized by UNESCO since 1994 and 2006.
Upon reaching Halong, transfer to the pier and board a charming traditional wooden junk for a cruise through the bay. As you cruise, you’ll pass by remarkable rock formations, each with its own unique name such as Stone Dog, Incense Burner (Dinh Huong), and Fighting Cock (Ga Choi). Enjoy a delectable seafood lunch served on board.
At the heart of one of the small islands in the bay, there is a captivating cave known as Thien Cung (Heavenly Residence Grotto). You can explore this cave or simply relax on the boat. After approximately 4 hours of cruising and exploring the bay, you will disembark at Halong pier and return to Hanoi. Spend the night at your hotel in Hanoi. (B/L)
Day 3: Hanoi City - Siem Reap
Following breakfast, check out from your hotel and embark on a journey to explore Hanoi. Begin your day with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, and his private residence from 1954 to 1969. His wooden ethnic minority-style house, constructed on stilts, is surrounded by tranquil gardens. Within the same complex, you will encounter the One Pillar Pagoda, originally established by King Ly Thai To in 1049, which has since become a significant symbol for the people of Hanoi.
Next, continue your exploration with a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda, situated on a small peninsula on the eastern side of West Lake. This pagoda boasts a history of over 1,500 years, making it the oldest pagoda in Hanoi. Take a leisurely walk to explore Hanoi Flag Tower and Thang Long Citadel, a fascinating historical relic of Vietnam that was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 due to its profound historical and cultural significance.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, our representative will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax and explore. Spend the night at your hotel in Siem Reap. (B)
Day 4: Full Day Angkor Tour
This morning, we begin our exploration with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, also known as “Big Angkor.” This was the royal city and the last capital of the Angkor Empire. Our first stop is the renowned Bayon Temple, an architectural masterpiece despite its piecemeal construction over more than a century. Next, we visit the Terrace of the Elephants, an impressive 2.5-meter-tall terrace wall that stretches 300 meters, adorned with intricately carved elephants. It spans the heart of Angkor Thom, leading us to the massive Baphuon, a temple mountain at the center of Angkor Thom, the Royal Palace Area, and Phimeanakas, an impressive laterite and sandstone pyramid.
Our tour continues to the Terrace of the Leper King, located at the north end of the Terrace of the Elephants. This double terrace wall features deeply carved nagas, demons, and other mythological beings. Our last stop for the morning is the Ta Prohm temple, a remarkable blend of human ingenuity and natural beauty.
In the afternoon, we visit the iconic Angkor Wat temple, one of Cambodia’s ancient wonders and a representation of the Hindu universe. The temple features five famous towers that rise into the sky, with a geometrical layout of galleries adorned with bas-reliefs and stone carvings of celestial Apsara dancers. The temple also boasts numerous portals, chambers, and courtyards.
